SGCU provides full time day courses and training for experts-gemmologists. The programme of the courses presents five directions of professinal education and improvement of qualification in the sphere of precious and decorative stones, in particular, in certification and evaluation of the stones and providing of gemmological examination services.

Course 1. Examination and certification of diamonds
The training course provides specialization in certification and grading of mounted and unmounted, natural and synthetic gem-quality diamonds of the round, fancy, "old" and other kind of shapes as well as in determination of synthetic simulants and imitations of diamonds. Duration of the course - 4 weeks

Course 2. Examination and certification of precious stones The training course provides specialization in certification and grading of polished precious stones of the gem quality (except diamonds); determination of synthetic analogues, simulants and imitations of the precious stones; reconstruction of the laboratory synthesis methods of the synthetic analogues. Duration of the course - 4 weeks

Course 3. Examination and certification of precious stones of organogenic origin
The training course provides specialization in certification and grading of natural and cultured, sea and river water, treated pearls, imitations of pearls as well as treated and reconstructed amber, methods of its reconstruction. Duration of training - 1 week

Course 4. Examination and certification of semi-precious stones The training course provides specialization in certification and grading of semi-precious stones; specifing of ecological safety and conditions of usage of the semi-precious stones; determination of varieties of gem corals, ivory, nacre, other organic gem materials and their imitations as well as imitations of semi-precious stones. Duration of training - 1 week

Course 5. Examination and certification of semi-precious stones The training course provides specialization in certification and grading of raw and processed rocks being used for architectual and building purposes for production of wares of exterior and interior decoration, monumental art, elements of landscape architecture, road-street building etc; determination of quality and technological level of processing of decorative stones. Duration of training - 1 week

Training seminar. Introduction to the Merchandise Research of Precious Stones The seminar would be useful for trade workers. It presents knowledge on classification of the precious stones, their quality, value and market principles of pricing. It also considers legislative basis of operations with precious stones, rules of export, import, wholesale and retail trade. Duration of the seminar - 2 days

The training gives practical skills and experience in diagnostics and identification of natural and synthetic stones, aquirement of gemmological equipment. It also considers legislative basis on examination and certification of stones, licence, trade and custom rules of operations with precious stones as well as Internet gemmological links.

At the end of the Program, if completed successfully, the standard Certificate is issued.





SGCU announce enrollment for the training course of valuer of cultural artefacts (licence of Ministry of education and science of Ukraine series AA No902014).

The training programme of provides theoretical study on the basis of SGCU and practical study on the basis of Kyiv museums and private collections. The course includes the following: general classification of cultural artefacts, notion of the quality and customary value of cultural artefacts, general infornation on the value of cultural artefacts, scientific attribution of cultural artefacts, determination of evaluative cost of cultural artefacts as well as drawing up a report on the evaluation of cultural artefacts.

At the end of the training if completed successfully, a the standard Certificate on the education of "Valuer of objects in the material sphere" is issued. It proves the competence in conducting of examination, determination of forecasting cost of cultural artefacts as well as in drawing up an appropriate Expert reports.

The courses are for audience with higher education.
